BioWare outs new RPG game, Says it take you back to the pen and paper RPG days

During Games CON BioWare has finally launched the game that it has been teasing over the last few weeks. Called Shadow Reals and set in an alternate reality Earth the game pits humans that are just awakening to their powers against a foe called the Shadow Legions of Embra.

The game is a 4v1 style multi-player RPG that will (sadly) only be available to play online. In one comment from BioWare, Jeff Hickman said that the game “brings us back to our roots in the realm of classic Pen and Paper RPG, but also delivers something that’s completely new and innovative” That is a pretty bold statement when you think about it. The days of the classic pen and paper RPG had hallmarks that have been absent from most video games including ones based directly on Dungeons and Dragons, the game that is widely accepted as the one that started it all off.

The game will be episode based and is supposed to feature a rich story line that will evolve over time and as the player move through the different chapters in the game. You can check out more information on the game and also sign up for a closed alpha on the game's website. A warning though, you will need an EA origin account to sign up so if that is not your thing you might want to skip this one.

As of this writing Shadow Realms is due out for PC in late 2015.
