Blizzard's DotA on the way?

by on30 September 2013 2249 times

Looks like there is another MOBA game just around the corner, or atleast we hope, since you never know how long will you have to wait for Blizzard to release the game they are working on.

Judging from unofficial sources, they have recently copyrighted the name "Heroes of the Storm". It is speculated that this was the official name of Blizzard's mysterious MOBA project, which until now has been known as the Blizzard All-Stars and Blizzard DotA. Although nothing has been officially confirmed, it is worth noting that the whole thing came from the same sources which confirmed Blizzard's registration of rights related to the Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft and Diablo 3 expansion Reaper of Souls.

It is expected that Heroes of the Storm will probably assemble characters from the Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo, which are the three big Blizzard franchises. Blizzard already confirmed back in 2010 that they are indeed working on MOBA title, but at this year's BlizzCon, there were no new announcements about it, so the focus was shifted to Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, World of Warcraft, and Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.
