CynogenMod bcomes a mobile OS company

Developers gathered around CyanogenMod have transformed this popular project into the company. CyanogenMod is a replacement open source firmware for smartphones and tablets based on Android operating system.

The new company Cyanogen already has collected $7,000,000 of the initial capital and as the man in charge, Kirt McMaster was appointed. McMaster is one of the founders of Boost Mobile, the telecommunications company that offers prepaid mobile services. By establishing a company they want to offer customers quality and distinctive product based on features that are created according to the wishes of the whole user community. CyanogenMod has gained many fans due to the fact that it works well on many Android devices, bringing the latest version of the operating system on older devices that have been forgotten by the official support of manufacturers and telecom operators, while useful additional options extend the capabilities of the basic version of Android.

The long-term goal is to expand the customer base, which now consists of over 8 million users and gain third place on the list of the most popular mobile operating systems in front of Windows Phone and Blackberry OS system.
