Mozilla has increasing support from device manufacturers for the upcoming operating system Firefox OS. Along with existing partners, Mozilla published 19th company that will support this OS, Taiwanese Foxconn.

Formal announcement of the partnership Mozilla and Foxconn will announce on Monday, 3rd June at the press conference, for which the company has already sent out invitations to the media. At the same conference, presentation of Foxconn's device with Firefox OS is also expected, and informed sources say that is probably a tablet.

So far Mozilla for its mobile operating system designed for somewhat weaker hardware devices and emerging markets has the support from a number of telecom companies and manufacturers such as LG, Qualcomm, ZTE, Alcatel and others.

[Ed - Foxconn's move appears to be part of their "life after Apple" planning. It is a smart move on their part as they have plenty of experience building phones and tablets. They can take this knowledge and benefit from it now and later if Apple's charmed life completely dries up. We would not be surprised to see them work with a few other companies like Canonical to produce more alternatives to iOS, Android and Windows RT. Time will tell if this will happen, but it certainly seems likely.]
