Sony has development of games for the PlayStation Mobile platform made available to all interested developers. According to the official announcement on the PlayStation blog, the company has revoked the payment needed for the license for publication of PlayStation Mobile games.

So far, for the publication of games on this platform was necessary to allocate $99, but now all those interested can download the free SDK package and completely free start to develop games and then release them free of charge. Games will still have to receive a green light from Sony before their publication of the online store, and the developers are unable to even determine their price for a full game and the rights to it since they are sold to Sony.

PlayStation Mobile platform refers to a game console PlayStation Vita and a few Android smartphones and tablets with PlayStation certification. With this move, Sony plans to encourage indie developers to significantly increase the development of games and  to compete better with smartphones and tablets on iOS and Android systems, which with specialized mobile consoles already took a substantial market share.
