HTC M7 is HTC One

HTC is believed to be preparing to introduce a new smartphone that will be placed at the top of company's offerings as well as in general even before the Mobile World Congress. The device codenamed M7 will reportedly be sold under the name HTC One.

Thhtconee photo was posted on Twitter by Evleaks, one of the users with traditionally reliable information about upcoming products. Accordingly, HTC says they will have two buttons below the screen - the back and home, and both will be capacitive. Also, it is interesting that the device will have two speakers, one above and the other below the screen. The diagonal of the screen on the device should be 4.7 inches with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. This should sufficient for the density of image display with 468 pixels per inch. The device will reportedly be based on the 1.7 gigahertz Qualcomm APQ8064 chipset, and will have 2 GB of RAM.

The HTC One will be shipping with Android 4.2 and the new version of HTC's Sense interface. The presentation is scheduled for 19th February and will be held simultaneously in New York and London.

[Ed – We are beginning to think that the smartphone market is simply too floodded with top end smartphones from every maker. This is not going to help the market out as people are to the point of not wanting to upgrade every 6 months. This is even more true when you factor in the lengthy contracts that people get stuck in... Expect the smartphone market to have a crisis of identity in 2013-2014 or it will simply fall apart in much the same way that the original ISPs did...]
