Hugo Barra joined Google in March 2008, leaving the company Nuance, which main job was developing speech recognition software. The last three years he was one of the most important people in charge of the development of Android.

Now Barra via his Google+ profile publicly announced that he is leaving Google to join a team of Chinese Xiaomi Global. Xiaomi is a company that manufactures smartphones based on the Android operating system, and is distinguished by the quality of workmanship and design.

Xiaomi is one of the fastest growing manufacturers in China, which is often called Chinese Apple. Despite the great popularity in China, until now Xiaomi has not attempted a breakthrough on the world market. Exactly that is the goal of Hugo Barra , who  will arrive to Xiaomi's team in October this year as vice-president of Xiaomi Global.
