Users of Gmail Android app until now could sent as an attachment only photos and videos, but with the new version 4.7 Google has finally allowed sending of other file types. The new version of Gmail allows sending of zipped files which can also now be downloaded directly to the Android device.

Yet it is not the only novelty in the application, there are also "Vacation Responder" and "Cloud Printing" option. "Vacation Responder" option allows user to set the start and end dates when the device will in case of receiving e-mail reply to the sender via an automated response containing arbitrary text that user  previously created. To prevent your device from responding to various promotional offers or mistakenly sending emails so strangers can discover where you are, Vacation Responder can be adjusted so it applies only to senders from your phonebook.

Owners of Android devices with KitKat version of Android have one more option available and that is Cloud Printing. Google further states that owners of devices with smaller amounts of working memory can expect a better response of the application itself. The new version should already be available via Google Play store, if you have not yet received notification be sure to check it manually.
