Increase in Windows Store downloads

Windows Store, a centralized repository of applications for Windows 8, was launched a year ago. According to official figures, last month Store has recorded a daily average of 1.7 million downloads of applications.

Last figure represents a 39 percent increase compared to June and October, during which Windows Store has marked a total of 51 million downloads of applications. Of this number, most were free apps, and only 1.4 million were paid. Considering the apps downloaded from the Windows Phone Store, the daily average climbs to around 10 million apps downloaded.

According to the Metro Store page scanner, at the Windows Store there is more than 125,000 applications available to users. Number of 100,000 titles this store achieved seven months after its launch.
