Mobile data traffic doubled since last year in the US

According to the New York Times and an analyst Chetan Sharma amount of mobile data traffic in the US market almost doubled compared to last year. Americans in 2013 spent an average of about 1.2 GB of traffic per month on their mobile devices. During the 2012 an average of 690 MB of data traffic was spent per month via mobile devices.

The growth occurred due to the increase of users who use high speed 4G LTE network and with the release of more advanced mobile devices on the market. Also very important factor is that the applications for devices whose sizes are increasing.

Apple on their devices has a limited amount of data traffic that can be downloaded using the cellular network, which is 100 MB, users of Windows Phone devices have a limit of 50 MB, while Android users have no limits.
