Written by

Reading time is around minutes.

MediaTek is a Taiwanese company that is famous mostly for making cheap SoC solutions that are implemented in most of the device coming from eastern markets. The latest product with a label MT8121 is a quad core chip that is designed for installation in tablets belonging to the lower price range, and costing up to $99.

MediaTek MT8121 chip should have an ARM Cortex-A7 processor with Power VR series 5 graphics. To enable manufacturers of tablet to minimize production costs, MediaTek installed inside the chip support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Apparently it is already in mass production, and the first tablets made around this chip could be on the market early next year.
