iTunes Radio gets a news channel

Written by

Reading time is around minutes.

Apple's iTunes Radio service for music streaming was conceived as a competitor to music services like Spotify, Rdio and Pandora.  After nearly a year of work it will finally get the new content, this time unrelated to music.

Service will apart of music channels now have a channel with informative content. Apple's streaming service will get news channel NPR (National Public Radio) which will broadcast 24 hours a day. NPR is an American non-profit national radio network that brings together about 9,000 U.S. radio stations.

The network is normally available free of charge through the web browser and mobile applications and captures 30 million visitors a month. So as things stand for now, the NPR will be the only news channel on the iTunes radio service, atleast for a short period.
