Reading time is around minutes.

Accorsing to the site Patently Apple, which is specialized in patent activity from the Cupertino company, the company submitted patent applications for Apple's new gadget. It is a stylus which would be used with their iOS devices, but of course it is not a completely normal stylus.

This would be somewhat expected, called iPen, and would be composed of several detachable modules. Depending on which module the user has connected to it, iPen can get many additional applications. Basic modules would contain classic stylus tip, signal generator and a device to communicate with iOS devices and other modules. Supposeely additional modules will have the battery, sound recorder, gyroscope, accelerometer, laser pointer and even a mini-projector. Some of the additional features mentioned in the application state placing a camera that records the movements of the iPen, technology known from laser mice.

This gadget could become, if all of the above is in it, a useful extension to facilitate the use of larger iPhone or iPad that may soon appear. In addition to direct tapping on the screen, iPen would supposedly allow the creation of air gestures and create a new way of control over the Apple's devices.
