Nokia gets awarded a patent for a flexible battery

Nokia at the global level received a patent for his invention described as a flexible batteries. According to the description, mentioned batteries should be able to wrap around one axis, and will be manufactured for installation in a “multifunctional portable electronic devices.”

 

This patent immediately prompted speculation about whether Nokia is preparing a flexible mobile phone that could reach the market under Microsoft's umbrella. Description of a new battery says that the different versions of the same invention may be incorporated into any type of electronic mobile devices, and specifically referred to mobile phones, gaming devices, music players, laptops, and even personal digital assistants, product category which is not in focus at the moment.

Nokia has already secured a patent last year for similar technology to be used in wearable devices, but according to the description of this year's patent is an improved version which brings greater flexibility and thus the diversity of future batteries.
