Rory Read to step down as AMD CEO: Lisa Su to Take Over
In any technology based company there is a need for strong leadership. The problem comes in finding the right person to take the role of leader. We have seen how much of an impact the right and wrong choices can make in companies like Apple and AMD. As current CEO Rory Read prepares to step down we are taking a look at AMD and their leadership over the years. With AMD they have fought the battle of leaders ever since the tenure of Hector Ruiz. Ruiz is possibly one of the most universally disliked CEOs that AMD has ever had. Most will put AMD’s current situation squarely in his lap.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella Says Microsoft Has to Find Thier Soul
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has finally come out and publicly said what we have been reporting for the last couple of months. Things are changing from the Ballmer way. What that exactly means is yet to be determined though as Nadella is also a proponent of Microsoft’s cloud computing initiative: “We live in a mobile-first and cloud-first world”. In a memo to all Microsoft employees that is posted on Microsoft’s web site Nadella states that he wants Microsoft to “rediscover our soul – our unique core”.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella Talks About Privacy and Trust, For Non-US Customers
Newly minted Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella had some interesting things to say about data privacy and how it effects Microsoft in the global market place. The comments, although made during an HP event in Las Vegas are another part of the PR campaign that Microsoft has embarked on after the departure of Steve Ballmer. Some of the first moves were to small items intended to shore up some potentially dangers areas in the market.

Big names leaving Microsoft after new CEO steps in
As part of the major reorganization of staff within Microsoft launched by new CEO Satya Nadella, several significant changes have been announced. By the end of this week the founder of Skype, Tony Bates and marketing director Tami Reller are expected to abandon the company.
Why Satya Nadella was a smart CEO choice for Microsoft … to keep things going the way they are.
Microsoft has a new CEO in the form of (former) executive VP of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group. The announcement today comes after months of speculation about the replacement for Steve Ballmer. As you might remember Steve Ballmer made an abrupt decision to retire after Windows 8 and 8.1 failed to take off as expected. It was (and still is rumored) that his retirement was not voluntary, but was a response to a number of bumps in Microsoft’s progress since Ballmer took over from Bill Gates. At the time of the decision there was a general hope that Microsoft would turn away from their cloud push and retreat from the devices and services company they so wanted to become. Sadly with the appointment of Nadella it looks like Microsoft’s attempt to become just like Apple will continue.
New candidate for the CEO position at Microsoft
Sources close to the people who are engaged in the search for new executive director of Microsoft confirmed to Bloomberg that a new candidate has appeared. In fact, after 5 months of searching for a new boss, the team responsible for recruitment considers Hans Vestberg, the current chief executive of Ericsson.
Alan Mullaly withdraws his candidacy for Microsoft's CEO
Alan Mulally, Ford's current CEO, has officially announced the withdrawal of his candidature for the future director of Microsoft. Mulally was so far mentioned in the media as one of the most likely successors to Steve Ballmer, even though he did not received the official offer for that position from Microsoft.
Sanjay Jha is the new CEO of GlobalFoundries
Former CEO of Motorola Mobility, Sanjay Jha, under whose leadership the company was sold to Google, will assume leadership of GlobalFoundries. Sanjay Jha was the chief executive officer of Qualcomm, and from the chief position at Motorola Mobility stepped won in 2012.
Nadella or Mulally to become Microsoft's next CEO
According to the findings of Bloomberg, the committee which is selecting a new Microsoft's CEO is close to a final decision. The choice is narrowed and as the most likely candidates are mentioned Alan Mulally and Satya Nadella.
