Crytek joining the MOBA genre

Crytek has finally officially announced its new game Arena of Fate, confirming that at the release will be available for the PC and the next gen consoles. Arena of Fate is a fantasy MOBA (although Crytek describes only multiplayer title) in which two teams of five players compete in the quest for dominance. The game will offer us a number of well-known and popular characters such as Frankenstein, Jack the Ripper and Baron Munchhausen.

When Microsoft announced Windows 8 there were many consumers and people in the industry that raise their eyebrows. Here was an OS designed to integrate with Microsoft cloud services and gaming products. It seemed like a bad move for Microsoft as it put them in competition with many companies that developed games and software for the PC. Still some held out that even though Windows 8 would be more integrated into the Microsoft Eco system than ever it would not mean they could not use whatever software or application they wanted. Free-to-play games bringing PS3 back

Large developers like Crytek and CCP believe that Sony's support for free-to-play games will ultimately lead to the PlayStation's comeback to the top of the console market. Sony has recently released a free version of SingStar, in which users pay only music and the PS3 will soon have the first big Free2Play (f2p) title from CCP - Dust 514th. “If Sony embraces free-to-play as a major way for PlayStation, that could be the key console” Crytek's Cevat Yerli said. Crytek has also seriously dedicated themselves to the free-to-play model, and are currently working on an interesting FPS named Warface.
