Blizzard Cancels Titian MMO
Blizzard has decided to drop work on their next-generation MMO game Titian. According to some reports the reason behind the cancellation was that they “didn’t find the fun”. Exactly what that means we are not 100% sure, but according to Blizzard this move will allow them to create something even better.
Diablo III comes to Sony consoles
It looks like the Auction House will not be part of Diablo 3 on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. Blizzard made an announcement that for Diablo 3 on consoles a special equipment exchange system saves will be made through which players will still be able to trade with each other. Specifically, it is a somewhat limited menu for the exchange of weapons and equipment, about which Blizzard has not revealed too many details.
Blizzard getting sued by gamers… is anyone surprised?
Blizzard has found themselves the target of some of their users who decided to press charges as a group against the company. The players accuse the company that it did not properly secure personal information and is now forcing them to buy Battle.net authenticators to have at least some minimal protection. Such physical authenticators costs $6.50 and with the money users spent to purchase the game, it should be free of charge if you ask me (and probably everyone else).
Guild Wars 2 sells 2 million copies
It has been around 2 weeks now since I have lost a large group of my gaming friends to this Guild Wars 2. Now it has been announced that GW2 had sold over 2 million copies after they re-launched the sales. Now you are probably wondering what I mean by re-launched? Why would anyone stop their sales if they were going so good? The answer is because they appreciate their customers. If you played Diablo III then you know what happens if you just try to sell as many copies you want in the shortest time possible, you get overcrowded servers, all sorts of lag issues, users become unable to log in, and a bunch of angry gamers. The GW staff showed that they were ready for this, even after they had issues with swamped servers on the first day of the launch.
Blizzard Facing Legal Action in Germany Unless They Highlight Online Requirement By July 27th
Blizzard is in the news, again, and for some of the same reasons that they have been in the news since the launch of the third installment in the Diablo franchise. When it was launched Blizzard made the decision to require a constant internet connection to play the game. This includes the single player game and is a decision that is not coming back to haunt the company. In South Korea Blizzard has been fined (a paltry $7,000) for failing to refund customers over the infamous Error 37. This error popped up when Blizzard’s servers were overloaded. Unfortunately, because of the requirement for a connection to play the single player game people were unable to play the game at all.
