In Win Shows Their New Case Lineup at CES 2014
While many of the case manufacturers that we are all familiar with were absent from the showroom at CES this year, I did find my way to the display area for In Win Development. They have had some excellent chassis out in the past that I’d have the privilege of reviewing, and while it had been a couple of years I wanted to see what their lineup looked like now. I have to say I’m glad I did.
3D Printing for the Masses
CES 2014, Las Vegas, NV - We're all hearing a lot of buzz about the world of 3D printing. It really is a remarkable technology, one of those few that come along that really do have the potential to change the world. The ability to create parts on demand, choosing from thousands (or potentially millions) of patterns and several different materials, both conductive and non-conductive with a single machine makes that potential obvious. If that machine is coupled with (or includes) a 3D scanner, the potential is even higher. The 3D printer's versatility is what has created all the buzz. From simple basic plastic shapes to functional firearms to human organs, the technology is incredible.
Razer drops their own smart watch; the Nabu
Wearable tech seems to be the big thing going right now. Companies like Nike, Sony, Pebble and LG have all got their hands in it with their versions of the smartwatch. From the elegant to the downright gaudy, there are a lot to choose from right now. We saw several of these at CES 2014, but the one that really set itself apart from the others for me came from what may seem an unlikely source: Razer.
The Power and Flexibility of the PC Brought to the Masses: Project Christine from Razer.
I had the chance to talk with Keven Scarpati of Razer at CES 2014 and get a look at some of their upcoming gear. As usual, they have some very interesting things in the pipeline, but the top of the heap has got to be their newest take on the personal computer: Project Christine.
The Aorus X7 - A Gaming Laptop That I Actually Want
CES 2014: Las Vegas, Nevada - There are a lot of companies that call some of their lineup “gaming laptops”. Asus, Sony, Toshiba, MSI, they all have at least one laptop in their stable that they tell me I can use to game. While I’ll be the first to admit this is technically true, invariably their definition of “gaming” and mine have been different. Small screens, low resolution, terrible sound, poor performance (unless I turn down the graphics quality, which is a problem in its own), there are always tradeoffs that honestly have made me consider “gaming laptop” to be a contradiction.
Thermaltake goes back to basics at CES 2014
CES 2014, Las Vegas, Nevada – During our visit to the Thermaltake suite we had the chance to see some of the new products that will be hitting the market and what we saw was pretty impressive. To kick things off Shannon Rob walked us through two new cases that are tailored to the enthusiast on many levels. The first up on the plate was the Urban T81. This roomy enclosure can be setup for use with air cooling or water (even a massive water rig). I know that many of our modding friends will be drooling over this one and its little brother the V71. Shannon does a great job of walking us through the highlights in our video coverage (if you can get past the background noise).
CES 2014: What is going to be the “big thing”?
CES 2014 – Las Vegas, Nevada. As we mentioned in another article it seems that CES is living up to its name as it becomes more and more about consumer electronics (gadgets, TVs, Mobile etc) and the computer industry moves into the background. So with that in mind, just what is going to be the “big thing” at CES 2014? Will we see something PC related as the darling of the show or will we find another item that steals interest and what everyone will be talking about.
Polariod drops a 4K Tv for under $1000
The American company Polaroid will at the upcoming CES introduce its first Ultra HD television whose price will be less than $1,000, it will cost exactly $999.99. Polaroid has been known for producing cameras and films for self-developed instant photos until they went bankrupt in 2001.
