New version of Exynos 5 Octa SoC with mark 5420, based on six-core Mali-T628 M6 chip and contains four ARM Cortex-A15 cores running at 1.8 GHz, and four 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7s in ARM big.LITTLE configuration. Samsung claims that the new SoC delivers improved optimization of the energy consumption by 20% compared to the previous generation, and can provide twice as better graphics.

Samsung has officially unveiled the Exynos 5 Octa, the first processor for mobile devices with eight physical cores. The processor is based on last year's ARM big.LITTLE design that uses 4 weaker and more fuel-efficient cores for less demanding tasks and four cores that become active when the mobile device needs maximum performance.

As the Apple vs Samsung clash rages on with the release of the new iPhone 5, plenty of rumors have started to circulate. One of these is that Samsung will be releasing a new device, the Galaxy S4 in February 2013. The first thing that comes to mind is, “Why would they even need a new device when the “old” S3 beats the iPhone 5 any day“. Of course Samsung has stated that these rumors are simply not true. If the rumors were true, the S4 would just stomp the new iPhone and there would be no decent competition on the horizon.

Yesterday we covered Samsung's achievement, selling 10 million Galaxy Note phones and posted rumors about new model that is about to come. Today we found out that photos of new Galaxy Note II have been leaked to the internet. After there was leak of front panel pictures a few days ago now we get to see the whole device. It is very similar to Samsung Galaxy S3, and it may be a sign of authenticity since Galaxy Note was very similar to Galaxy S2.
