According to the data that KGI Securities acquired, the latest model of iMac which was introduced in 2012 was sold in far less copies than it was expected at Apple. Analysts believe that the reason for this is primarily high price which makes iMac non-competitive in smaller markets and in emerging one such as China.
Last week there were rumors of a possible postponement of the new iMac. The reason they were supposed to be late was production problems due to the complicated design so the rollout should have started next year. But it looks like Apple has something else in mind and they do not want to have any delays in any case.
The shipping date for the ultrathin Apple iMac desktop computers could be much later than the Apple's initial plans. Apple's announcement regarding the iMac during a presentation in October, claimed the beginning of November as a start date for the21.5-inch models shipping , while the 27-inch should be available in December.
