Privacy and security in consumer electronics is (and has been) a big deal for a number of years although most consumers are not aware just how vulnerable they are. In most cases the lack of security is due to a lack of any real standard between devices combined with massive growth in the connected device market. For far too many years cellular communication has been left vulnerable while the market boomed. The same can be said for the phones and devices we use to communicate. These have so many holes and flaws in them that it is almost comical.

There is a story running around the internet that says Google is now processing one million piracy take down requests in a single day. Now there are two different spins to this story (and we will cover both) out there. One of them is being pushed by the copyright lobby groups, while the other is popping up through sites like Google and various net neutrality groups.

Among the various charts that are published at the end of each year, the piracy scene also has its own. Among other things, in the domain of the TV series the most pirated one was Game of Thrones. The most used torrent sharing site is, as expected, The Pirate Bay followed by Torrentz and Kick Ass Torrents.
