Sailfish OS update 5 is released

The new update for Sailfish operating system comes under a very catchy name Paarlampi or the code number 1.0.5.16. Like every other operating system upgrade, this one brings fixes for identified bugs and some new possibilities. Sailfish OS now supports two-way sync of Exchange contacts, and you can now specify the account that will be the "default" for emailing.

Sailfish OS alpha version for Nexus 4

The company behind the Sailfish operating system released the first alpha version that can be installed on the Android device. Since this is alpha version, installation is not available for a large number of devices, and is only available for one, LG's Nexus 4, while the version for the Samsung Galaxy S III LTE (i9305) is still in preparation.

Jolla Sailfish v1.0 is here

Jolla, a Finnish company founded by former Nokia employees, has announced that they are prepared to issue a full commercial version of their operating system Sailfish which will be numbered 1.0.

Jolla Sailfish smartphone has arrived

Sales of the first smartphone powered by Sailfish operating system officially started today via an online store. Jolla comes with a 4.5 inch IPS screen with a resolution of 540x960 pixels, which is of course touch sensitive, and supports up to five simultaneous touch points. Powered by a dual-core Qualcomm processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and 1 GB of RAM it should maintain fluid operation of the operating system and applications.

SDK for Sailfish OS arrived

Jolla company that has bring to life, now slightly forgotten MeeGoopen source mobile operating system, creating Sailfish OS, today through their Web site has released a free distribution of the SDK for this platform, designed to run on Linux, Windows and OS X.
