If you are fascinated by special effects in the Matrix series of films, especially in slow motion at which, among other things this trilogy is famous for, then you will be delighted by this technology. Free Dimensional Video (Freedom) is the name of the technology for displaying slow shots of the most important moments in sporting events.

Twelve 4K resolution video cameras were set up around the playground and recording every moment of the action from all possible angles. Software derives captured images and generates 3D image of the event and stores it in the database.

At a time when the director decides to transmit a replay, three-dimensional image that can be slowed or stopped at any time is generated, and while it is being shown the whole scene can be rotated in order to see the action from any angle.

Pretty cool huh? Tell us what you think in our Forum
