Grand Theft Auto 5 has recently set a new sales record in the world of interactive entertainment, becoming the first title to make a billion dollars after just three days of sales. Take-Two Interactive reveals that they are extremely proud of the overall success of Grand Theft Auto 5, which is truly on its way to be ranked among the best games ever released.

Strauss Zelnick says that Grand Theft Auto is actually a true cultural phenomenon, and that Rockstar once again redefined what is possible to achieve in the world of interactive entertainment. It is worth noticing that GTA 5 on the first day of sales earned around $800 million.

By comparison, the previous record holder Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 achieved the figure of a billion dollars earnings after 15 days of sales, which was two days less the previous record set by the Call of Duty: Modern Warfarea 3.

As you already know, the Grand Theft Auto 5 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 came out on 17th September, and on Metacritic currently carries almost unbelievable average rating of slightly less than 98% for the Xbox 360, or 97% for the PlayStation 3 edition of the game.
