Amazon doing better, but still at a loss

Written by

Reading time is around minutes.

Amazon for the third quarter reported 24% higher revenues than in the same period last year, but they still finished with loss of $41 million.

The total revenues of the company were 17.09 billion dollars, which is higher than analysts' expectations, which on average, predicted that the company will have revenues of about 16.76 billion dollars. The loss of $41 million is significantly less than last year's loss of $274 million in the same quarter, as the main reasons for the loss they named investments in new products and expansion of their delivery centers.

In the current quarter, Amazon expects sales from around 23.5 to 26.5 billion dollars, which is why the company announced the hiring of 70,000 seasonal workers to be able to meet all orders.
