The ASRock Z77E-ITX Intel Z77 motherboard is a tiny little motherboard. It is designed for small form factor PC's but has latest chipset from Intel, Graphics technology, and bells and whistles. Today we are going to put it through the ringer and see how it fares against some larger motherboards to see if there is a difference due to size! Can good things come in small packages? Read on to find out!
"I can honestly say that I wasn't sure what to expect from a mini-ITX motherboard like the ASRock Z77E-ITX. I was afraid that it wouldn't be on par or as capable as a full ATX motherboard. Once all the benchmarking is said and done though, I have to say that I am really happy with the ASRock Z77E-ITX motherboard. Sure we are missing a couple of things that are typical to an ATX or Micro-ATX motherboard, but that is more due to available real estate on the PCB than anything else..."

Last week I was watching CNN and heard about a new gadget called the Smash Mute. The Smash Mute is a giant button that you press or smash with your fist and it will mute your television. That is all this $24.95 gadget does, but I just had to get my hands on one. In this election year we could see close to $1 billion in campaign spending, so it's inevitable that TV commercials will drive us all crazy and need to be muted.
"After installing batteries and synchronizing the TV remote signal you are able to mute your TV with ease. The Smash Mute was designed to be "so easy to program an old person can do it" and we found that to be true. This also applies when you go to use it as you just push the big red button to silence the TV. Who cares where the TV remote is as long as you have the Smash Mute next to you!"

With all of the SATA III drives coming out with regularity, those with older SATA II hardware might be feeling a little left out in the cold. Never fear, Crucial has a line of V4 SSDs in various capacities that are SATA II based with peformance that's admirable. How did it fare? Have a look at the article to see the numbers and our impressions.
"Crucial lists the capabilities of V4 256GB SATA II SSD as being able to reach read speeds of up to 230MB/s and writes up to 190MB/s. In two out of three synthetic benchmarks, we saw these specifications exceeded with the max reads hitting a hair under 280MB/s and writes just under 240MB/s. Obviously, this is best case performance scenarios but it gives a clear indication of what the drives are capable of although the lesser capacity versions will return lower results. Being a value oriented drive, we feel like the performance is very solid..."
