Facebook camera by Canon

Reading time is around minutes.

In early September, we can expect a new Canon PowerShot camera model called N to hit the market. It is an ultracompact model with CMOS sensor with a 12.1 megapixel resolution, a 2.8 inches backlit screen, DIGIC 5 processor, 28-224mm f/3.0-5.9 8x optical zoom lens.

What sets it apart from many similar competing cameras (and different from the predecessor of the same name) is a Facebook button that lets you easily post photos and videos on this social network directly from the camera. Yuichi Ishizuka, executive vice president and general manager, Imaging Technologies & Communications Group, Canon U.S.A. said that "The new PowerShot N Facebook ready digital camera, with the Facebook Connect Button, opens up a new dimension of photographic sharing and expression to help people showcase their personal style and creative flair with powerful innovative Canon technologies."
Connecting to the Internet is provided by built-in Wi-Fi module, and the whole process of reviewing and selecting content for upload will be eased up by tilting LCD which is also a touch screen. Starting price for Facebook version of PowerShot N in the U.S. will be 299 USD.

[Ed - Does anyone else think that is not going to work?]
