Galaxy, a renowned manufacturer of graphics cards decided to expand their range of hardware to other segments. The company demonstrated at Computex new line SSDs and power supplies, but even more interesting is their motherboard.

Galaxy Z87-HOF (Hall of Fame) motherboard is designed for Intel processors, and has a high-quality 16-phase VRM section consisting of International Rectifier chips IR3550. But the uniqueness of the board lies in the implementation of chip PLX 8780, the new generation of bridge for PCI Express interface with 64 streams - older PLX 8747 has 32 streams.

The chip provides full support for four PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots (at the same time), which could be useful in configurations with more more powerful graphics cards. Price and exact date of begining of sales for this motherboard are not yet known. In addition, the Galaxy now offers and Thunder line SSDs with 64-256 GB, based on SandForce controllers.
