HP to release Haswell based device without active cooling

Although there is the opinion that Haswell is still not ready for devices without a fan, it's not an opinion that everybody shares. Specifically, HP is planning device based on the new Intel-based cooling which will be done passively.

The news were confirmed to Engadget by HP representatives. The device is supposedly coming soon, and the prototype was in Intel's presentation at the Computex show. Omitting fan will allow manufacturer to create device smaller in size, quieter in operation and to further reduce power consumption.

At the recently held fair Intel and their partners presented the first wave of devices with Haswell. The main advantages of the new processors are related to reduced energy consumption and heat generation, according to Intel's promises, we can expect with these new devices time of autonomy go up to ten hours.
