Huawei will not release a dual-OS smartphone

Written by

Reading time is around minutes.

Last week several internet news sites reported that Huawei is preparing a dual-OS smartphone that will come with Windows Phone and Android operating system. The first such device should appear in the U.S. market during the second quarter of this year.

At least that was the declaration made by Shao Yang, Head of Marketing at Huawei, during an interview on TrustedReviews. As things currently stand it looks like we will not soon see a dual-OS devices, at least not from Huawei. A spokesman for the company through FierceWireless published a denial stating that since the interview company decided change some plans, and that Huawei gives up the issuance of dual-OS smartphone. Giving up on dual-OS does not mean the abandonment of Windows Phone or Android device, but that Huawei will continue to offer the same separately.

Although this denial confirms that there were plans to release a dual-OS smartphone, and that they decided to stay away from it, Huawei did not specify the reason for making this decision.
