After they unveiled their new game console, Xbox One, which will among other things be equipped with the new version of Kinect, Microsoft announced that a similar equipment for computers based on Windows will be issued next year.

New Kinect for Windows should use the same technology as the one for Xbox One, that will allow users to control a computer using hand movements and voice. It will include a color camera in high-resolution and multiple microphones with noise canceling technology. There is also a technology called Time-of-Flight, which measures how long it takes the photon to bounce off from a person or object.

All these features together should provide greater accuracy and precision in detecting movements and voice commands, that will allow monitoring of multiple parts of the body, and with the help of infrared sensors will be able to better "see" in the dark areas.

If Microsoft pushes Kinect to the PC how will this help with the Xbox One? Tell us what you think in our Forum
