Lenovo intends to expand the availability of their smartphones in the international market. Due to the global trend of falling demand for personal computers, Lenovo the next opportunity for growth sees in mobile devices, with a focus on smart phones.

The company over the next year intends to officially begin selling smartphones in the important and highly competitive U.S. market, company's CEO Yang Yuanqing confirmed in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. Lenovo is currently one of the fastest growing manufacturers of smart phones, but their equipment has not  yet been officially sold in the United States.

The company's smartphones have so far been available only to Chinese customers (where Lenovo holds 11.4 percent of the market, just after Samsung's 17.4 percent), and since the beginning of last year they started sales in India and Russia. Company's plans for expansion to other global markets are not yet known.
