Nokia Normandy is Nokia X

Written by

Reading time is around minutes.

At the upcoming Mobile World Congress which will be held in Barcelona, Nokia will supposedly present their new, somewhat controversial, mobile phone, about which more and more information leaks on the web. A month ago we published one of the first image of the device called Nokia Normandy, the first smartphone from this manufacturer that will be based on the Android OS.

Now new information appeared and is as before transmitted by evleaks. Codename Normandy will be replaced by the name Nokia X. Since information that Microsoft makes smartphone with competitive OS can be confusing, it should be emphasized that the Nokia X will come with the so called "forked" version of Android.

It is the operating system that is based on the source code of Android, but significantly altered by independent developers. In the case of the Nokia X, the user interface will remind you of Windows Phone, and it is very likely that this smartphone will not be able to install apps from the Google Play store.
