Nokia will invest the mentioned amount in companies engaged in the development of technologies for new generation cars, for which they believe are the platform as once smartphones were around which number of new applications and services were developed.
The company through division Navteq, specialized in navigation systems, already has a significant share in this industry – around 6,000 Navteq employees are working on the development of maps and navigation technology.
