Samsung has begun mass producing of the XP941 line of SSDs, the first PCI Express SSD solution for ultrabooks. XP941 SSDs come in M.2 format and offer superior performance for Ultrabook and other thin notebooks.

Samsung's solution was created in 10-nanometer manufacturing process (between 10 and 20 nm) and with the dimensions of only 80x22 mm and weight of 6 grams it providrses performance significantly higher than the 2.5-inch SSDs for classic SATA 6 Gb/s interface. Samsung declares speed data read up to 1,400 MB/s via PCI Express 2.0 bus, while the compact size leaves more space for the installation of larger batteries.

Samsung XP941 line will be available in capacities of 128, 256 and 512 GB, and notebooks with this SSD's on the market should occur by the end of the year.
