Reorganization at HTC

Due to disappointing sales and financial results of the company, HTC decided to reconstruct its business. A new department was founded, headed by Mike Woodward, whose task will be to create innovative new products and the establishment of a new global strategy for the distribution of HTC's products. The Department was established in order to prevent departures of quality employees such as CEO for Asian market, Lennard Hoornik, Vice President of Global Market Greg Fisher, head of production Kouji Kodera and vice president of global communications Jason Gordan.

In addition, the president of the International Global Sales, Jason McKenzie, re-set to the top spot in HTC America at which he was back in 2011, which is department of the company responsible for the U.S. market. He will also continue to work on his old place in global sales cooperation with CEO Peter Chou. They also announced better support for the European and Asian markets, which have so far been neglected in comparison to the U.S. market.

Reconstruction is a move done in hope that the Taiwanese company can come into a better position on the market in the shadow of falling profits by 82% in the second quarter of this year and the dominance of Samsung and other companies in the market of smartphones.

[Ed - This reorganization is not the only result of poor financials. It also appears that the decision to make the lower powered HTC One Mini was also part of the fall out. HTC needed a low cost (to build) phone that they could sell for a decent price and putting under the One name seemed to be the right move. However many are looking at the mini and turning to other phones in the same size category that have a bigger CPU under the screen. The move may backfire on HTC in the long run, but they simply do not have the reserve money to do much more than what they have...]
