According to Sony, the one to blame for this flaw is the Chinese company responsible for the manufacturing process of their tablets. Noriko Shoji, Sony's spokeswoman stated that “Sony doesn’t have a time frame for sales to start again at this time”. The working Xperia tablet runs on Android OS, with internal storage ranging from 16GB to 64GB. So far they have sold over 100,000 tablets and Sony has promised to repair any tablet that has this defect. They believe also that the stopping of sales won’t have a big impact on their earnings.
The Xperia tablet is priced between $400 and $600. It features a 9.4-inch LED backlit display with a 1280x800 pixels resolution. It also has an 8MP camera that is able to record full HD 1080p videos at 30 frames per second and a front 1MP camera capable of recording 720p video. It all runs on quad core 1.3GHz Cortex-A9 processor. Since the device has pretty decent specs it would be a true shame for flaws like this to happen again and hopefully for Sony they won’t be wide-spread.
