EA gave up on Fifa Manager
Sad new for fans of Fifa Manager series of games. Electronic Arts has canceled future sequels and franchise because, as stated, a lack of interest. Judging by the designer of FIFA Manager Gerald Köhler genre of football management titles is extremely narrowly specialized, with primary markets in England and Germany, where now complete domination and supremacy holds a competitive series, Sports Interactive's famous Football Manager.
No Ignite engine for PC version of FIFA 14
Rob Hodson from Electronic Arts via Twitter said that FIFA 14 on PC will not be based on the recently discovered engine Ignite. Specifically, Ignite remains reserved exclusively for the Xbox and PlayStation 4 One, and PC this time remains aloof.
FIFA finally approves Goal Line Technology
After successful testing of GLT (Goal-Line Technology) at the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan in December last year, FIFA decided that the technology can accurately determine whether the ball passed the goal line or not, will be officially introduced at the World Cup in Brazil 2014.
Fifa 13 preorders hit 875,000
Only 4 days were needed for Fifa 13 to reach 875,000 copies preordered. Officially the preorders started on September 13th and now EA Sport's has come out with some impressive numbers. This is a pretty solid increase comparing to preorders from last year. It is a jump of 37% in Europe and 62% in North America. It looks like football (the real kind) is getting more and more attention in the US, both on video games and on the real pitch. EA also announced that the demo version released last week was downloaded 1.99 million times in first three days for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. This is an increase of 29% from last year.
