Google and Apple Following Nike, Polar and Samsung into Fitness Related Wearables
This morning’s news is full of posts about Google “following” Apple into the wearable fitness game. After Apple announced their Healthkit app and all that it can do Google quickly pulled the covers back on theirs. Now what all of these articles fail to mention is that other companies have been in the health game long before Apple decided to step into the waters. Nike, Polar, I’M Spa, and Even Samsung had health apps and wearables long before.
Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit sold out after 10 days of availability
Samsung recently introduced a sports armband Gear Fit, the latest addition to the line of smart watches Gear 2, which caused a huge demand in the market, at least by Samsung's partners and distributors. Just ten days from its official launch, as reported by the Korean MK News, all factory stock of this gadget are sold out. This month, according to this source, Samsung delivered between 200 and 250 thousand pieces of Gear Fit.
Completely new design for Galaxy Gear 2
If you believe a sources within the company, whose info was transferred by the Korean ZDNet, the new Samsung smart watch should experience a complete redesign. Experts are already wondering whether this is a response to the lack of good sales results of the first generation Galaxy gear, or prepare for increasing competition in the market of smart watches, including even Apple's iWatch which does not exist yet.
Is Samsung mixing numbers of deliveries and sales once again?
Although only a day earlier information appeared about catastrophic poor sales of Samsung's smart watch, the company made a statement to deny those rumors. Sales are according to them going 16 times better than it was previously announced.
The fall of Galaxy Gear
Pompously announced and presented as a revolutionary, Samsung Galaxy Gear smart watch was obviously not so well received in the market. As Geek.com published, 30% of all sold watches were returned to stores.
Android 4.3 comes to the Samsung Galaxy S4
A thing that most of the smartphone users love to see just came to Samsung Galaxy S4, of course, we are talking about new version of Android OS. The new update brings, along with corrected bugs, improved stability of the operating system.
Galaxy Gear 2 on the way
Although only few weeks have passed since Samsung introduced the first smart watch from the Galaxy Gear line, allegedly already in early next year we could be seeing his successor. Looks like they just wanted to publish their first version of the device just before Apple did, so now they plan to publish an improved version.
Galaxy Gear will soon be compatible with non-Galaxy devices
After Samsung at their conference at the IFA in Berlin presented their smart watch Galaxy Gear, many wanted to know whether it can work also work with other Android devices and not just Galaxy ones. Specifically, Galaxy Gear currently only works with the Galaxy Note 3 phablet, making it much less interesting to those users who do not intend to buy the product just to be able to enjoy the benefits of Samsung's smart watch.
