Samsung Galaxy S3 is the best selling smartphone

The Position of the best-selling smartphone in the world in the last quarter now belongs to the Samsung Galaxy S III, according to Strategy Analytics. During the quarter Samsung has delivered a total of 18 million units. “The Galaxy S3 captured an impressive 11 per cent share of all smartphones shipped globally and it has become the world's bestselling smartphone model for the first time ever" said Strategy Analytics' Neil Shah.

Even though the international (Austria, Spain, France and Romania) Galaxy S3 owners already have gotten the update for their device to latest Android software, US owners will have to wait a bit more. According to Samsung, the update will be rolled out in the coming months, but they didnt want to give specific dates. For more information customers will have to wait for the announcements from their carriers. The main problem with new Android versions is that companies like Samsung prefer to add something unique like their TouchWiz, so it takes longer to get the latest updates for this custom operating systems.

T-Mobile announced that Samsung Galaxy S3 is their best-selling mobile device of all time. This is another confirmation of its true quality and desirability by consumers. Of course this doesn’t mean much to T-Mobile, but it certainly does to Samsung in their race with other smartphones, mainly the iPhone. No official number of devices sold has been announced yet, but considering that T-Mobile is not as big as other carriers it's sure that they are not the leading seller.

Samsung dispells Galaxy S4 launch rumors

As the Apple vs Samsung clash rages on with the release of the new iPhone 5, plenty of rumors have started to circulate. One of these is that Samsung will be releasing a new device, the Galaxy S4 in February 2013. The first thing that comes to mind is, “Why would they even need a new device when the “old” S3 beats the iPhone 5 any day“. Of course Samsung has stated that these rumors are simply not true. If the rumors were true, the S4 would just stomp the new iPhone and there would be no decent competition on the horizon.
