Red Goddess kickstarter campaign successful

Independent development house Yanim Studio has announced that they have have successfully secured the funds necessary for the development of their platformer Red Goddess. The project is supported by more than 700 people with donations that exceeded 32 thousand dollars.

Planets³ Kickstarter campaign started

On the website Kickstarter, a new campaign of raising finance to complete the "open-world 3D voxel-based RPG" titled Planets³ (pronounced "planetscube") was started. Mentioned title combines RPG experience with the construction and exploration of the universe built from small voxels, or block size of 25 cm³.

Main motive for players to become willing to financially support a project on Kickstarter is to have a good concept, and developer team called comcept USA obviously succeeded in that. Head of the team is Keiji Inafune, the creator of legendary Mega Man.

Kickstarter more sucessful than IndieGogo

According to information presented by Jonathan Lau, campaigns on Kickstarter collected six times more money than those on Indiegogo.
Lau has conducted his own research by collecting information on the number of campaigns, failed campaigns, collected money and a variety of other information on the most popular pages used to collect money for various projects.

100,000th project on Kickstarter

Since the launch of Kickstarter back in 2009 until today, this page was the starting point for more than 100,000 projects, according to announcement. However, less than half of them were successfully funded, or to be precise more than 42,000 projects.

The project is the brain child of science fiction writer Neal Stephenson and is a motion based sword combat game with the apt name of Clang (anyone else hear the black knight from Monty Python getting hit on the head?) The game will delve into the long sword fighting style as an arena combat game.

bloglllbaregaBack in the heady days of the late 80’s the gaming scene was not all that amazing. Sure you had a few notable exceptions but let’s face it, the technology was anything but stellar. I can still remember many of the 8-bit digital games that were so pixilated you would not be able to tell what many items were. Still I look back on those days with fondness and with a memory of one game that was so outrageous that I can still remember getting into trouble for playing it. Many of you might remember this one; Leisure Suit Larry in The Land of the Lounge Lizards.
