Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos buys the Washington Post

Founder and CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, bought one of the world's most respected newspaper publication, the famous Washington Post, for $250 million. He will pay with his own money, not the Amazon's, which obviously points out that Amazon will not have any business relationship with the newspaper, and Bezos himself said on this occasion that the publishing policy of the Washington Post will not change - all editors and all journalists remain in their positions until further notice.

No new announcements from Bethesda

Pete Hines from Bethesda Softworks for the portal Polygon discovered that for now we should not expect any news on the next project from Bethesda Game Studios. Hines explains that their main development department is not dedicated for publishing new versions of their titles every year, but that does not mean that gamers will have to wait six or seven years for the new one.

So Digg will be re-launching on Wednesday August 1st with a completely new design and a more image friendly interface (according to the developers at Betaworks). Right now the question on everyone’s mind is will the new redesign and focus make any difference? A reinvented Digg faces massive competition from sites like Reddit, Facebook and even Google+ so how will this new social sharing site fare?

digg_issuePopular news aggregation site Digg appeared to be having some issues today as it stopped being able to service users. The issue started at around 12:00 Eastern time in the US and at the time of this writing the site is still not available. Upon reaching the site users are greeted with a blank page a simple message saying “No stories found”. ***Updated 6-11-2012 14:51 Digg came back online for around 2 minutes and is back down; still no word as to whatr caused the almost three hour outage****
