Samsung Ativ Q cancelled because of patent rights?
Samsung announced in June this year that they are working on a device that has the features of a laptop and tablet in a single device. It is the Ativ Q device, which was supposed to bring an unprecedented resolution when it comes to tablets, 3200x1800 pixels on a 13.3-inch screen.
Problems with GPS on the new Nexus 7
Quite a lot of users have posted their complains about various problems on the Google Mobile Help Forum with the use of satellite navigation built into the new Nexus 7 tablet, which was made by Asus for Google this time. Among the problems they referred the cases of complete inability to use GPS navigation, as well as the termination of GPS functionality after 2, 5, 10, or 30 minutes.
Acer moves focus from PCs to tablets
Gartner's predictions for the 2013 are not in favor of Acer. According to their report they expected a decline of Acer's share in a PC market by 44 percent compared to the 2012, which is the biggest drop among all the leading vendors in the business that still stumbles. In fact, the only exception is Lenovo which is projected to grow by 11 percent on a Windows PC market.
New SoC from MediaTek
The MediaTek company has recently surpassed the competition with the introduction of the first true SoC with eight cores. In order to improve their market position, they did not stop at just that, but they presented another product, its first SoC based on ARM big.LITTLE technology. It is a heterogeneous architecture, which combines energy-efficient less powerful processors with the stronger ones that consume more power.
Asus to Enter the US Cellular Market
Asus as a company has an interesting past and also an interesting future. In the component industry Asus has emerged as an innovative and competitive company. You can see this in the popularity of their motherboards, GPUs and even audio products that they sell. It seems that many other companies rush to catch up with them as they branch out into more and more vertical markets. Asus has even pushed into the storage market with their own line up of business NAS products and an enthusiast grade PCIe SSD. Asus has also had their hands on products that they design (and build) for other companies. They recently received a huge push when Google decided to use their design for the popular Nexus 7 tablet.
New Exynos 5 Octa
New version of Exynos 5 Octa SoC with mark 5420, based on six-core Mali-T628 M6 chip and contains four ARM Cortex-A15 cores running at 1.8 GHz, and four 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7s in ARM big.LITTLE configuration. Samsung claims that the new SoC delivers improved optimization of the energy consumption by 20% compared to the previous generation, and can provide twice as better graphics.
Could Windows 8 Destroy the PC Market as We Know It?
Believe it or not, thanks to Windows 8, PC sales have just gone through the biggest decline in the past 20 years. These sales, combined with the increasing popularity of tablets, beg the question: is Windows 8 going to destroy the PC Market?
I own a PC that came with Windows 8, and I can tell you, I wasn't pleasantly surprised when I began to use the operating system. Lets take a look at why or why not PCs might be on their way out.

1.7 billion smart connected devices in 2014
According to IDC's estimates, next year 1.7 billion "smart connected devices" should be supplied, of which around billion will go to emerging markets. The smart connected devices is IDC name for "smart" mobile phones, tablets and PCs, and most deliveries are expected in China, India, Brazil and Russia. Just these four markets are expected to supply about 662 million units, worth more than 206 billion dollars.
