Two years ago, when Samsung released the Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet that contained the Super AMOLED Plus screen, according to some surveys it has earned the title of "the best tablet on the market" from the customers. Although tests of users can’t be fully relevant, these data certainly helped Samsung in the decision that it was time for a full HD AMOLED tablet with a larger diagonal.

Microsoft’s upgrade of Windows, known by the codename Windows Blue, could allow several innovations in the mobile segment. Microsoft through Windows Blue intends to begin issuing new versions or major upgrades of Windows, on an annual basis, which applies to operating systems for mobile devices.

Mobile devices with flexible screens won’t go on sale in near future. This was confirmed by J.K. Sing in an interview with the Wall Street Journal Samsung's director of mobile division, adding that the company does have an internal roadmap of development of such products.

According to yesterday announcement from IDC's analysis, this will be the first year in which the number of tablets with Android operating system will surpass the number of Apple iPads. Sony unveiled the Xperia Tablet Z at the MWC in Barcelona. It is a 10.1 inch tablet based on a Snapdragon S4 with 2GB of RAM and a screen resolution of 1920x1200 pixels. The operating system is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and Sony has announced an upgrade to 4.2 immediately after the launch.

ZTE has unveiled a tablet bearing the mark V81. It is a device based on Android with an eight inch diagonal screen and a 4:3 aspect ratio. It looks like they won’t let Samsung be the only major company with an 8 inch tablet on the market.

After the smartphones presented at CES, Sony has a tablet from the Z Xperia product line in preparation. Official information on the specifications is still missing, but unofficial ones indicate a very competitive hardware worthy of the Xperia Z mark.

Manufacturers of hardware components are not expecting a significant recovery of the PC market over the next year. Asus and Gigabyte, both leading manufacturer of motherboards, have said that in 2013 they expect an equal or slightly lower number of deliveries of motherboards than was the case this year.

Linus Torvalds publicly expressed his disappointment via Google's social network about screens on laptops, which have a resolution that has long been stagnant. Currently the most common resolution is 1366x768. According to Torvalds, even cell phones will soon surpass the resolution available on most on laptops, in fact there are a couple of phones that do and many tablets as well

Microsoft's Steve Clayton interviewed the company's former CEO Bill Gates about Microsoft's future and what kind of impact Windows 8 and Surface will have on it. Gates talked about Windows coming into a new arena with touch-screens and tablets. This will be without question a big turnaround point for the company that will show whether or not Microsoft is able to make an entrance into the new markets. Gates stepped down as a CEO back in 2000, but he is still aware of what's going on with the company.
