Yep, the holiday season has started and you know what that means, Steam sales! As usual they put great discounts on many games, which will change daily, while most of them will last for at least 48 hours. So prepare your credit cards, e-wallets, and let the games begin. The first day of the winter sale brought significantly reduced prices for the famous game series Borderlands, Prince of Persia and Hitman.

In addition to the above titles we find that Mirror's Edge, Wargame, European Escalation and Scribblenauts Unlimited are also getting price cuts. Today’s deals also include Dishonored for $29.99 (50% discount), Darksiders II for $16.99 (-66%), the whole F.E.A.R. collection for $13.71 and plenty more. There are also flash sales which last for a shorter period of time, usually 12, 18 or 24 hours, and you can find some great titles there too like Torchlight 2 or Orcs Must Die.

The sale as a whole will last until the 5th of January. As far as Steam is concerned, in addition to the PC and Mac, they are now available on Linux. Specifically Steam for Linux recently entered into open beta, and revealed that Valve will start to slowly increase the catalog of games that support the Linux OS. Looks like this holiday season will be all about gaming; we certainly don’t mind that.
