A new smartphone from Gionee will appear on the market under a name Elife S5.5. The figures in the title are not for the display size, but are related to the thickness of the device - 5.55 mm, which currently makes it the thinnest smartphone to the world.

Elife S5.5 comes with a Super AMOLED 5 inch Full HD display with 441 ppi pixel density, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory that can not be further expanded due to lack of memory card slot. Gionee has two cameras installed, one in front which has a resolution of 5 MP, while the rear has 13 MP.  It will run on Amigo OS 2.0, which is based on Jelly Bean (4.2) version of Android, and is powered by a Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 2300 mAh which according to the manufacturer should be sufficient for a full day's work in 3G network.

The phone should arrive to the Chinese market during the first quarter of this year at a price of $ 370, and after that we can expect it in another 40 countries worldwide.
