10 million of Xiaomi Mi3 smartphones sold worldwide

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has proudly announced that their flagship model Mi3 has surpassed 10 million copies sold. The unit started selling in October last year and is at the moment available only in five countries: China (excluding Hong Kong), Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.

To mark the successful sale, Xiaomi's founder, Lei Jun, announced that customers will henceforth be able to purchase it in a new color which will be the champagne gold. Also, Xiaomi soon plans to start selling the device in India, Indonesia, Mexico and Brazil. Besides Mi3 model Xiaomi sells three models of smartphones: Mi2S, Hongmi and Hongmi Note. Since July 1st, the company started selling Android tablet that is designed as a competitor to Apple's iPad.

Regarding sales results during the first half of this year, Xiaomi has sold 26.1 million mobile devices, which is more than in the same period of the 2013, when they sold 18.7 million copies. By the end of 2014 they expect sales to reach a 60 million mark.
