HP pushing a $100 tablet out the door

Hewlett-Packard introduced a cost-effective tablet HP 7 Plus which is intended for the lower segment of the market. HP 7 Plus will not provide users with an extremely impressive performance, but it will be quite sufficient for simple tasks such as surfing the Internet, browsing e-mail and runing basic applications.

The device has a 7 inch 1024x600 resolution display and Allwinner Technology A31 SoC that includes four Cortex A7 core with a clock speed of 1 GHz, Power VR SGX544MP2 GPU and 1 GB of RAM. There is also 8GB of data storage available, which is further expandable with microSD cards.

Users can also access the front camera of 0.3 megapixel and the rear one with 2 megapixel resolution  and battery power of 2800 mAh, which is enough for 5 hours of work. HP 7 Plus is sold in the U.S. market at a price of $99.99.
