After Samsung  introduced the first "vertical" 3D memory chip earlier this month it did not take long for the first concrete product using this technology to appear. They launched SSDs of 960 and 480 GB, which are designed for enterprise servers and data centers.

The disc comes in a size of 2.5 inches, and Samsung says that in addition to increased density of a disk that comes as a result of "lifting the height", this SSD brings a 20 percent increase in performance and 40 percent better energy efficiency compared to conventional SSDs. Samsung has not yet been announced when will first SSDs with this technology appear in our computers, laptops or tablets, but we expect that we will not have to wait for too long.

Unfortunately, in their statement they do not specify the cost of new SSDs, but considering the purpose, it is expected that it will vary depending on quantities ordered.
