After long period of waiting, fans of Warcraft can breathe a sigh of relief, because things around the movie adaption of this popular franchise finally started moving in the right direction. In fact, two days ago it was announced that the film Warcraft will arrive on 18th of December 2015 sponsored by Universal Studios Entertainment.

Ubisoft’s boss Yves Guillemot believes that the current generation of consoles has reached the end of their lives and that the market urgently needs new hardware. He said this in an interview with the Polygon. He feels that the current generation of consoles has simply been here for too long and it is about time that the market receives the next generation of the consoles.

Microsoft's Imagine Cup opened for registration

Starting today you can register to compete in Microsoft's Imagine Cup. The only condition is that you are a student and over 16 years old. The competition brings together young tech enthusiasts to try their best at solving the toughest challenges in the fields of Games, Innovation, and World Citizenship. This year will mark the 11th running of the Imagine Cup and Microsoft has decided to give the prize pool a boost. It is now more than double what it used to be, $300,000. After the national events are finished, all national winners will compete in St. Petersburg, Russia, where worldwide finals will take place. The finals will be held from July 8 to 11 2013. Microsoft has reported that more than 1.65 million students have participated in all of the previous Imagine Cups, and with that bunch of young innovative people you can expect big competition and even bigger results.

It seems that Gabe Newell formerly from Microsoft and also of Valve fame is not a fan of the direction that Microsoft is taking. In a recent interview he was quoted as saying; “I think Windows 8 is a catastrophe for everyone in the PC space.” This is something that we have been saying for a while now and for apparently some of the same reasons that Newell has; Microsoft’s recent moves to the cloud (forcing the use of Microsoft services) and also with locking out and competing with OEMs and partners. These decisions on the part of Steve Ballmer are the way to ruin the open platform that the PC was for gamers.
